Training and Match Information by Text and Email

Teamer.net

Dear Parents

As you can probably imagine, the number of texts and phone calls made to organise training, going to international match or another club can sometimes be quite time consuming. Well, I think Richard Taylor has found the answer. It’s called Teamer.net.

Teamer is an online team management system created and designed to minimize the effort involved in organizing a team. I will continue to let you know about forthcoming events on the new website, but, I will be using Teamer.net in the event of any late fixture changes and/or in relation to the general organization of any other team matters. With Teamer, I can notify all players/supporters, specify whether they should receive text and/or email notification and send up to date news. As players / parents reply, I receive updates with up to the minute response information letting me know where I stand for the upcoming game. Parents can let me know about your child’s availability by simply replying ‘y’ (yes), or ‘n’ (no) to a text message on your phone or go to teamer.net and marking their availability online. From the TeamPage, I can get all the information I need for upcoming events (changes to fixtures, training, etc). The TeamPage is private and secure, only people invited by me can access it. Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s):

What is Teamer?

Teamer is an online team management system that uses text messaging and email to solve the headaches of organizing a team.

How much does it cost?

For an organizer it’s always free. Setting up a team page, notifying players, managing your season won’t cost a thing in any country. In the UK and Ireland all messages that leave the system are free, parents/players who respond pay no more than their standard rate charged by the phone company, so it’s the same as texting a friend, Teamer adds no additional charge.

What makes Teamer’s notification system unique?

We use email and text messaging to notify the entire club. Often email isn’t enough to reach people, so the notification system uses ‘closed loop’ text messaging to ensure the team leader reaches all players and is updated in real-time as to their availability.

What is ‘closed loop’ text messaging?

Most online text messaging systems send a notification, but don’t gather and store the response. With ‘closed loop’ text messaging, replies are picked up on the TeamPage and displayed to the organiser, so we know how the team is shaping up.

How secure is the TeamPage?

Only players that you invite can access your TeamPage. In that way information stored on the page can only be seen by those people you have selected to access the information.

How secure is my data?

Teamer take data security very seriously. They encrypt all passwords. All player information on the teamer.net site requires user authentication to be accessed. In other words if you are not registered and logged in you cannot access any individual’s information.

Will my data be given to third parties?

We will NEVER share your details with a third party.

I run a kids team and I am worried about privacy issues. Who can access our teampage?

Your TeamPage is a private, invite only space. Only people you have invited get access. Our Child Protection Officer will monitor it’s use.

Can I assign a co-organizer for my team?

Yes. To assign a co-organizer, click the edit button next to the relevant team member on the player list. Check the box to give them the same rights as the team creator.

Using Teamer.net will simplify and improve communication to all players/parents. For those parents who are happy receiving text messages then they continue to do so, however for the parents who have computer access they will have the option to communicate via email and all parents/players will be able to access the team page on the web-site for all the latest information. If you have any questions please feel free to speak to me.

Thanks

Colin
